On their first day of training, gymnasts learn the hollow-body hold. It’s a foundational position that involves bracing your abdominals and creating total-body tension, and it’s integral to many other movements in the sport.
It’s also a seriously genius way for you to train your abs. Yet
most people have never even heard of this as a “gym” exercise. Maybe
that’s because situps, crunches, and planks get all the press. Which is
too bad, since not only will the hollow-body hold crush your core like
few other exercises, it’ll pay off big in every other movement you do,
too.
“The hollow-body hold allows you to properly transfer force from your
upper body to your lower body without any energy leaks,” says Men’s Health
fitness advisor B.J. Gaddour, C.S.C.S. “The stronger and more stable
you are in this position, the more power you’ll have when squatting,
throwing, pushing, pulling, jumping, hitting, kicking, or sprinting.”
In short, it gives you a huge edge. And you’ll better understand why after you experience how challenging it is.
(Want more weight-free movements that will transform your fitness? Check out Gaddour’s cutting-edge fitness DVD, Bodyweight Cardio Burners, for three intense 20-minute workouts that require zero equipment.)
Give the hollow-body hold a try today. It’s a simple exercise, but
there are lots of small things you must do in order to nail it. Watch
the video above to see Gaddour demonstrate perfect form.

(MORNING WORKOUT) Upper Body Circuit!
This
upper body circuit has you moving between various push and pull
patterns for complete development of your arms, back, chest, and
shoulders. Plus, you’ll finish with some ab work to really carve up that
whole torso. Do as many reps as you can for the bodyweight and band
moves and try to choose loads that challenge you in the 8 to 15-rep
range for the dumbbell move. Simply hold the plank for the
full time with the goal of a stronger core contraction from session to
session. Alternate between 30 seconds of work and 15 seconds of rest for
each move in the following 6-exercise circuit:
1- Chinups
2- Dips
3- Dumbbell Alternating Rows
4- Close-Grip Pushups
5- Band Bicep Curls
6- Long-Lever Plank
That’s 1 cycle. Perform up to 5 total cycles.

(EVENING WORKOUT) Weight Distribution on Calves for Better Results!
Here
is a great exercise for your calves that should help to shock those
lower legs for results. By adjusting the angle in which your calves lift
the weight you can cause different sections of the calve muscles to
fire. This is a great way to switch things up and get results.

(EVENING WORKOUT) Strength Circuit!
MEN'S HEALTH:
This strength circuit from BJ Gaddour uses heavier loads for a moderate amount of time-under-tension to build muscle. The tempo of the exercises is slower and more controlled than you’d use for a power circuit. It’s kind of the sweet spot between powerlifting and bodybuilding training for building size and strength with the added benefits of metabolic conditioning.

(EVENING WORKOUT) Tips for Bulking & Shredding the CHEST!
Love training your chest, but having a hard time getting the great results you'd like to receive from your hard work? The reality is that many people struggle to get great results with their chest training because they don't fully understand what they are doing on this training day. Many just load tons of weight on the bench press and just hope to add a bunch of muscle and get shredded as well.
If you are like most people then you are probably having a hard time getting your chest to look the way you would like it to look. Many have a hard time bulking up their chest, especially the upper chest. Some simply have a hard time getting the striations and cuts through the chest.
